R-M Diamont is a solventborne basecoat system designed for solid, metallic, and pearl basecoat/clearcoat finishes. The product line gives the painter a strong color foundation; the final result still depends on preparation, variant selection, spray-out evaluation, blending, application technique, clearcoat, and inspection.

The refinishing process

A test panel can help evaluate color, metallic or pearl orientation, and appearance before the vehicle is refinished.

Diamont was developed through BASF's coatings organization and is widely searched as a BASF/R-M refinish system. The R-M brand is now part of Surventis, formerly BASF Coatings.
The paint formula is only the starting point. Existing fade, prior repairs, variants, adjacent panels, application technique, and the chosen blend strategy all affect the final evaluation.
